Accompanying himself on guitar or English concertina, he has earned a strong reputation for quality performance, at festivals and folk venues throughout the country, singing his own songs, together with a wide range of traditional and contemporary material.

From the anthemic 'Tolpuddle Man' to the percussive 'Tom Paine's Bones', his songs have been enthusiastically adopted by the folk community around the world and have been recorded by the likes of Dick Gaughan, Roy Bailey, Mick Ryan etc.
